Social Day 2016
This year, in fact, at the national level, the students involved were about 8,500 in the provinces of Vicenza, Treviso, Padua, Verona, Trento, Lodi and Pisa, who collected 82,000 € entirely for the financing of 8 projects of development cooperation in Italy and in the world. The coordination involved almost 2,500 students and young people from informal groups, who worked on April 16, collecting 20,678 euros .
The projects supported were chosen by the students:
- The colors of Buen Vivir (Bogotà – Colombia). Support for the education and community development activities that the Escuela Viajera foundation carries out in favor of children and families in the suburbs of Bogotà, to whom 45% of the funds raised are destined, for a total amount of 9,305.00 euros.
- Solar energy and agriculture in the Mekhè area (Mekhé – Senegal). Construction of solar energy systems and implementation of agriculture, to which 45% of the funds raised are destined, for a sum of 9,305.00 euros.
- Support to the Cooperative Rita Atria – Libera Terra (Castelvetrano, Paceco, Partanna – Italy), for the redevelopment of land confiscated from the mafia in the municipalities of Castelvetrano, Paceco and Partanna, to which 10% of the national fundraising is destined , for the Treviso-Padua coordination, a figure of 2,068.00 euros.
