Social Day 2018
Last year’s edition, held on April 14th, saw the participation of more than 10,000 young people at national level, setting a new fundraising record: 93,057 euros. The proceeds have contributed to the realization of 8 projects around the world, which involve other young people in difficult situations!
The Kirikù Cooperative involved 622 young people, recording a fundraising of 7,181.87 euros… more than doubling the previous year’s figures!
The Treviso-Padua coordination, of which the Cooperative is a part, activated 4,576 young people and the amount they collected, equal to 27,608.16 euros , was divided as follows:
- 45% of the funds raised to the Mojoca project, the Guatemala City Street Youth Movement (Guatemala) which finances scholarships for the schooling of street children in Guatemala City;
- 45% of funds for the project “Living in Malika, despite the economic precariousness and the presence of the landfill” (Senegal), micro-credit activities to improve the living conditions of families, young people and women on the outskirts of Dakar;
- 10% of the funds to the project of Free-Cooperative “Di tutti i colori” of Occhiobello-Rovigo which gives new life to the land confiscated from the mafia, allocating it to the accompaniment and social integration of asylum seekers (project supported by the entire national network) .
